DUI
and Underage Consumption Legal Issues
Course
Number:
AL-249
Course Length: 1/2 Day (3 Hours)
Enforcing DUI statutes,
making the legal arrest, performing the proper tests, preserving
the evidence, prosecuting the case and dealing with the offender
as a client are difficult enough. Doing this with an underage
person complicates the process. This workshop brings the DUI and
Underage Consumption statutes to a focus as discussed within the
constantly evolving legal decisions and directives. Topics include
testimony, reporting, evidence, burdens of proof, use of a PBT,
phases of a DUI investigation and arrest, as well as a discussion
of specific sections of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code. This session
will take the professional from suspicion to trial, section by
section of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and Rules of Criminal
Procedure, applying the legal elements of each offense to actual
situations.
